Goals

One of my long-term goals is to work with athletes in the strength & conditioning area and to use my massage skills to help them.

Many of the injuries sustained by athletes are the same as or very similar to the problems encountered by the general public. There is a flow on effect of my knowledge gleaned from treating athletes being also of great benefit in treating the general public.

I am very interested in teaching Massage Therapy and First Aid. To further my qualifications in this area I have completed a Workplace Trainer Certificate 4 Level 2 course at Chisholm Institute of TAFE, this was in May 98. Early in 1997 I started teaching Massage Therapy at Northern Melbourne Institute Of TAFE (I have been teaching parts of the Remedial Massage Certificate and the Sports Massage Certificate. I have also taught part of the Vic Fit Fitness Instructor course).

I have assisted Michael Stanborough in teaching the Myofascial 1, 2 & 3 courses at Melbourne School Of Tactile Therapies on several occasions.

In February 98 I started teaching an Introduction To Sports Massage course at Chisholm Institute Of TAFE in Dandenong. I set up this course on my own and handle all the teaching, the course runs for ten weeks three hours per week. I hope the introduction course will lead to the implementation of a full certificate course.
